Hortman, age90, of Autreyville, died Friday, June 10,2016, at Legacy Village of Moultrie.Funeral service will be 3 p.m.,Monday, June 13, 2016, at BakerFuneral Home Chapel with intermentat Pinecrest Memory Gardens.Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.Sunday June 12, 2016 at the funeralhome.Born November 6, 1925 he was theson of the late Oliver Jackson Hortmanand Exie Virginia Mitchell Hortman. He was a farmer. Hemarried FrancesWetherington on December 31, 1950 andtogether they raised their family on the farm in theAutreyville community. They were faithful members ofEnon Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deaconand answered a call to preach. He returned to and becamea member of the Bridge Creek Primitive Baptist Churchwhere his father was an Elder. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army.He is preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, andson, Robert Hortman.He is survived by his wife FrancesWetheringtonHortman of Autreyville; sons, Ollie Hortman and wifeMona of Hartsville, and Jay Hortman and wife Bonnie ofCoolidge; daughter, Amy H. Smith and husband Jody ofPavo; grandchildren, Jamie Hortman, Marcy Young andhusband David, Garret Hortman and wife Heather,Gabrielle Hortman and fiance Lee McMullen, J. BenjimanSmith, and Georgia Smith; and great-grandchildren, SarahGrace Young, Katie Beth Young, John David Young andJ.C.
