Jack Byrd

Jack DeLane Byrd, Jr. age 69 of Moultrie, died Friday December 22, 2017 at the Golden Apple. Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jonathan Hobby, Daniel Ball, Robbie Byrd and Benny Byrd. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 prior to service. He was born August 21, 1948 in Adel to the late Jack DeLane Byrd, Sr. and Ruby Hires Byrd. He was a Professor at Valdosta State College and of the Christian Faith. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry Byrd and Charles Byrd. Survivors are his sons, Robbie Byrd of Moultrie and Jack DeLane Byrd, III of NC; daughter, Mary Katherine Byrd of Virginia; grandchild, Kolby Gage Adcock;, brother, Benny Byrd and wife Sue of Moultrie; sister, Patsy Hobbs and husband Gene of Moultrie and sisters-in-law, Joyce Byrd of FL and Joan Byrd of Moultrie.Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
