James Herbert “Butch” Fielder, 71, of Moultrie, passed away at Archbold Medical Center on Monday, February 3, 2025.
No formal services will be held at this time.
Born on March 5, 1953, in Forsyth, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Ernest Fielder & Ilah Beatrice Cheek Fielder. He found great joy in nature, whether casting a line into the water, setting up camp under the stars, or tracking game through the woods. Butch's passion for the great outdoors was matched only by the warmth and kindness he shared with family and friends. His adventurous spirit and love for nature brought joy to those around him, and his stories of outdoor adventures will be treasured forever. Butch, lovingly known as “Pops” to his children, grandchildren, and their friends was a man who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His love and devotion to his family were unwavering, and he embraced the role of “Pops” with pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Gail Casteel.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha McEntyre and husband Matt of Omega; son, James Lee “Jamie” Fielder of Moultrie; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Verba Holmes and husband John of Albany, Annette Brown and husband Jay of Moultrie, LaJana Smith and husband Darell of Doerun, and Patty Ann Newman and husband Bobby of Moultrie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
