James Raymond Carter, 72, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00pm at Reedy Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Mr. Carter was born on August 19, 1949, in Valdosta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Coney Lee Carter and Marene Hutchinson Carter. He was an industrial engineer for Ball Metal Company as well as a farmer and he trained horses. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerome Carter, Melvin Carter, and Vernon Carter.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Leland Carter of Moultrie; son, James P. Carter of Moultrie; stepson, Brad McMillan of Ashville, North Carolina; daughters, Amanda Adams of Adel, Regina Bannister of Moultrie; stepdaughter, Lauren Dykstra of Moultrie; brother, Bobby Carter and wife Jeanette of Valdosta; and grandchildren, Savannah Ambridge, Madison Faircloth, Elizabeth Adams, Allie Adams, Jagger Ray Carter, and Mason Dykstra.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
