Born on October 28, 1937, in Lenox, Georgia, he was the son of the late Caulie Eugene Fender and Lillian Pendarvis Fender. A man with a passion for western movies and the cowboy way of life, James found joy in the open fields and the simple pleasures of farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Peggy Rae Polson Fender of Moultrie; sons, Mark Fender of Tallahassee, Michael Fender and wife Caroline of St. Marys, and Chris Fender of Moultrie; grandchildren, Amber Fender Carter and Brandon Fender; great-grandchildren, Liam, Ansley, and Evan; brothers, Donald Fender and Julian Fender; and sister, Carolyn Sumner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
