James Earl Lane (photo) VALDOSTA James Earl Lane, 65, of Valdosta, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at UPAC-Pruitt Health in Moultrie. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Baker-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jimmy Hiers will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Stephan Massey, and pallbearers will be Alfred Weeks, Michael Weeks, Bobby Wilson, Dink Roberts, Gary Adams and Tim Hogan. Mr. Lane was born April 8, 1950, in Adel, to the late James Howard Lane and Carolyn Weeks Lane. He was a radio announcer for WMTM and was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Paulk-Lane of Valdosta; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Robert and Julie Paulk-Cadiz of Jacksonville, Fla., Tim and Lisa Paulk-Hogan of Gainesville, Fla., and Bruce and Cynthia Paulk-Gibbs of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Patricia Lane Bloodworth of Norman Park; brothers-in-law, Billy and Sandra Webb of Ray City and Joel and Linda Green of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Dolly Neely of Valdosta and Eveline Stone and husband Tim of Valdosta; two special stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Marissa Martin; a nephew, Michael Weeks and wife Lori of Norman Park; a great-niece, Laine Weeks, and a great-nephew, Landon Weeks, both of Norman Park; and a very special friend, Bobby Wilson. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Baker Funeral Home in honor of Mr. Lane.
