James "Steve" Stephens Gray

James Stephens Gray, 61, of Omega, passed away Monday July 17, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Rocky Herndon, Randy "Fireball" Bannister, Thomas Hurst, Wallace Hurst, Dannie Mauldin, David Davis, and Dylan Gray. Born on November 16,1955 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Annie Joyce Hartsfield Gray and James Edgar Gray. He was the manager at Moultrie Livestock and was also a cattle farmer. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Joyce Hartsfield Gray. Survivors include his wife, Linda Powell Gray of Omega; son, James Stephens "Rooter" Gray Jr. and wife Jamie of Buffalo, KY; daughter, Amy Gray of Norman Park; stepsons, Eric Moore and wife Kristin of Lenox and Ryan Moore of Omega; grandchildren, Gracyn Walden, Annie Walden, Ellie Moore, Jerni Moore, Jacob Marksbury, and Ellee Marksbury; father, James Edgar Gray of Omega; brother, Joe Gray and wife Melissa of Ty Ty; sisters, Mynette Sikes of Omega and Sarah Parks and husband Jamie of Valdosta. Visitation will be Wednesday July 19, 2017 from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
