Jerry S. Meister, 82, of Norman Park, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Crosland Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Deep Bottom Cemetery. Joshua Meister, Caleb Meister, Jonah Meister, Jonathan Meister, Derek Porter, Dexter Norman, David Tillman, and Donnie Willis will all serve as pallbearers.
Born on April 15, 1937, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Carl S. Scarborough and Margarette Newton Scarborough. She worked for many years with Riverside Manufacturing and retired as a supervisor of order entry. She later served as a Colquitt County Board of Education Board Member for 20 years, served on staff at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Norman Park, a mentor to many students of Norman Park Elementary School and was a member of Crosland Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandchild, Declan Cole Meister; and brother, Robin Scarborough.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Meister and wife Regenia of Norman Park, Bob Meister of Norman Park, and Brad Meister and wife Jeanie of Madison, FL; grandchildren, Joshua and Jackie Meister, Caleb Meister and Megan Hill, Jonah and Anna Meister, Jessica and Derek Porter of Centreville, VA, Jonathan and Mauri Meister of Warner Robins, Dexter and Amber Norman of Orlando, FL, Anna and Josh Trimble of Raeford, NC, and Josey and Will Watson of Cordele; and 14 great grandchildren;
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Crosland Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Colquitt County Board of Education P.O Box 2708 Moultrie, Georgia 31776 Attn: Dr. Brad Gregory. Please make sure that Ms. Jerry Meister Memorial is listed on the check. This money will be used for a scholarship for students of Colquitt Co.
