Jimmy R. Monday (photo, veteran) MOULTRIE Jimmy R. Monday, 66, of Moultrie, died Sunday Dec. 14, 2014, at his residence. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Steve Purvis and the Rev. Ricky Purvis will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Plymel, Tracy Young, Ted Gray, Trent Carter, Billy Roberts and James Roberts. Mr. Monday was born Jan. 11, 1948, in Cottonwood, Ala., to the late William Henry Monday and Effie Franklin Monday. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he retired from the City of Moultrie as assistant gas superintendent. He served as assistant pastor of Open Door Christian Center. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Jeanette Roberts Monday of Moultrie; a son, Jimmy Rex Monday Jr. of Moultrie; a daughter, April LaDawn Monday of Cairo; a brother, Charles Monday and wife Margaret of Dothan, Ala.; a sister, Clara Merle Baggerly of Bainbridge; and grandchildren, Dylan Wayne Segers and Ethan Wayne Segers.
