Joe Otis Dorsey, 93, of Norman Park, passed away, on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 16, 1928, in Sparks, he was the son of the late Lucious Harvey “Bud” Dorsey and Nancy Mizie Clark Dorsey. He was retired from the United States Navy, serving in World War II, Vietnam War, and the Korean War. He was an electrician and was of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. Dorsey is survived by his sons, Joey David Dorsey and wife Lisa of Norman Park, and Roger Clark Dorsey and wife Deborah of Norman Park; daughter, Marsha Jean Cole of Norman Park; grandchildren, Jeneane Hinson and husband Larry, Wesley Baker and wife Kristin, Bobby Joe Dorsey and wife Jennifer, Amanda Medders, Jenny Hall and husband Dustin, Bridgett Williams, Stacey Pepple, and Lee Williams; great-grandchildren, Cody Cason, Wes Baker, Lexi Hinson, Caleb Baker, Natalee Medders, Gage Dorsey, Gatlin Hall, Marley Baker, Nola Webb, Seth Dorsey, Jim Brayden Hall, Isaac Medders, Cardin Sims, Bryson Sims, and Lacey Pepple; and great-grandson, Banks Cason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Merleen Dorsey; brothers, Tolbert Dorsey, Warren Dorsey, Houston Dorsey, and Wiley Pete Dorsey; sisters, Louise Robinson, Mecie Bell Roberts, Mary Ellen Baker, and Margret Harrell.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. He will be laid to rest by the United States Navy. Honor Guard at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
