John Henry Lewis (photo, veteran) MOULTRIE John Henry Lewis, 81, of Moultrie, died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Park Regency Assisted Living Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Cashwell and the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Burial will be at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Members of Colquitt Regional Hospice will serve as pallbearers. Born Jan. 20, 1934, in Worth County, Mr. Lewis was the son of William Henry Lewis and Katherine "Katy" Eady Lewis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as commander of DAV and Honor Guard. He was self employed in the trucking business and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church and an Atlanta Braves fan. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Annie Mae Conger Lewis, of Moultrie; a son, Johnny Lewis and wife Shirley of Albany; daughters, Shirley Lewis Gordon and husband Billy of Moultrie and Connie Lewis Richter, of Moultrie; a brother, Henry Albert "Bubba" Lewis and wife Christine of Moultrie; sisters-in-law, Ellie Lewis of Albany and Jeanette Lewis of Poulan; and grandchildren, William John Gordon of Moultrie and Joseph Brent Jackson of Meigs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Edward Lewis and William Henry Lewis; and two sisters, Pearline McClellen and Lillie Vie Cosper. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., prior to the service, at Baker Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Colquitt County Hospice, P O Box 3548, Moultrie, GA 31776; or Veterans Express Bus, 2033 2nd St. S.E., Moultrie, GA 31768.
