John Alvin Weeks

NORMAN PARK John Alvin Weeks, 79, of Norman Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at Buck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Godwin and the Rev. Danny Moree officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Creek Church Cemetery with John Paul Sutton, James Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Jason Sutton, John Edwards Jr. and Rodney Baker serving as pallbearers. Born April 1, 1935, in Norman Park, he was the son of the late John Weeks and Ruby Lee Fender Weeks. He was retired from Universal Forest Products and he was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clemer Lee Weeks. Survivors include his wife, Mary Godwin Weeks of Norman Park; sons, Steven Alan Weeks and wife Trena of Norman Park and Donald Alvin Weeks and wife Kathy of Norman Park; a daughter, Sheila Ann Weeks Warren of Norman Park; sisters, Flora Bell Webb of Sparks and Edith Mae Rentz of Troupville, Ga.; grandchildren, Michael Troy Weeks, Ashley Ann Gay and husband David P., Savanna Michelle Warren, Devin Alan Weeks and Mason Adam Weeks; and great-grandchild, Adilynn Grace Gay. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Oct. 8, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
