Joyann Applewhite Thompson,85, of Moultrie, passed away, Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and Rev. Lonnie Gibson officiating. Jeremiah Johnson, Myles Thompson, Avery Thompson Even Zebley, Ethan Zebley, and William Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Micah Willis, Sean Thompson, and Caleb Ricks will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Born on December 30, 1936, in Thomasville. She was the daughter of the late William Harrison Applewhite and Lucile Ward Little. Mrs. Thompson was a retired LPN from Southwestern State Hospital. She loved fishing, making quilts and sewing and was very involved in her church missions. She was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, and Ashely Davis; and one great-grandson, Brandon Exum.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Billy Thompson of Moultrie; daughters, Cynthia T. Reed of Moultrie, Eva T. Davis of Moultrie, Elizabeth Ann Singletary of Moultrie, Helen Darlene Zebley and husband Eugene of Moultrie, and Melanie T. Curtis and husband Billy of Moultrie; sons, William Delane Thompson and wife Belinda of Moultrie, and Marshall B. Thompson and wife Melissa of Moultrie; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
