Joyce Turner Wimberly MOULTRIE Joyce Turner Wimberly, 85, of Moultrie, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor in Moultrie, Ga. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at First Church Of The Nazarene with the Rev Walter Mingledorf and the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Moultrie. Casketbearers will be Ricky Wood, Rick Gaston, Ronald Beasley, David Houston, Doug Eldridge and Jim Hancock. Born on Aug. 15, 1929, in Dooly County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Turner Sr. and the late Eula Miller Turner. She was a graduate of Moultrie High School and retired office secretary for the First Church of the Nazarene, where she taught the Home Builders Sunday School Class for over 50 years. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. "Her heart was for people to love and serve the Lord," they said. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert L. "Bobby" Turner Jr. and sister Thelma T. Bailey. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Herman D. Wimberly; son, H. Larry Wimberly and wife Lavonia of Moultrie; two daughters, Vickie J. Riddle and husband Lorin of Valdosta, and Carol J. Saturday and husband Randy of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Lisa Wimberly, Kevin Wimberly and wife Julie, Chris Saturday, Ben Saturday and fiance Sonya, and Kimberly Saturday; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn "Katie" Wimberly, Carrie Grace Wimberly, William Harrison, and Kara Beth Saturday; one brother, Billy Gene Turner and wife Barbara; two sisters, Fannie Grace Certain and Marjorie Smith, all of Moultrie; special friend David Saturday; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Baker Funeral Home In Moultrie. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church Of the Nazarene.
