Joye Beddingfield Yearta, 88, of Moultrie, died at Colquitt Senior Care on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Westview Cemetery, with Reverend Dr. Hugh Ward officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born on July 14, 1936, in Perry, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Albert Beddingfield and Ruth Bryson Beddingfield. Joye was a beloved elementary school teacher at R.B. Wright Elementary who dedicated her life to nurturing young minds and shaping their futures. Joye's passion for teaching was matched only by her love for her family, who were the center of her world. Throughout her career, Joye inspired countless students with her enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to education. She believed in the potential of every child and worked tirelessly to create a warm and encouraging environment where they could thrive.
Joye's family was her greatest pleasure. She cherished the moments spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Her kindness, strength, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew her. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” M. Yearta; sons, William "Bill" Joseph Yearta and wife Susan of Sylvester. John Carlton Yearta of Moultrie; and Stephen “Steve” Michael Yearta and wife Maureen, also of Moultrie; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Rogers (Ford) of Athens, Clifford Bryson Yearta of Atlanta, John William Yearta of Moultrie, Elizabeth Ann Uhl (Doug) of Alpharetta, and Nayah Yearta of Harrisburg, PA; and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Colquitt Regional Senior Care and Colquitt Regional Hospice for their exceptional care. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication made a significant difference during this challenging time.
