Kater Earl Hampton NORMAN PARK Kater Earl Hampton, 84, of Norman Park, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Agape Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Baker-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Brother Donnie Sloan will officiate, and pallbearers will be Josh Giddens, Jamie Giddens, Caleb Giddens, James Tompkins, Bert Strawder and Mike Hampton. Mr. Hampton was born Oct. 30, 1931, in Colquitt County to Jean Hampton and Mattie Jane Hart Hampton. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of New Hope Holiness Baptist Church and was retired owner of Hampton Plumbing Co. Survivors include his wife, Monteen Giddens Hampton of Norman Park; a brother, Winifred Hampton of Moultrie; his special neice and caregiver, Lynda Phillips; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Coy Hampton; and sisters Pansy Taylor, Lorene Ross and Catherine Hampton. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
