Lavern Meders Brooks (photo) OMEGA Lavern Meders Brooks, 69, of Omega, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her residence. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Omega City Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Crawley and the Rev. Andy Ring will officiate. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Crawley, Justin Crawley, Gary Abell, Stacey Abell, Danny Erskine and Brayden Erskine. Mrs. Brooks was born Feb. 5, 1946, in Omega, a daughter of Henry Clem Meders and Addie Lee Fletcher Meders. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Commer Lee Brooks Jr. of Omega; son, David Gaston Weeks & wife Myra of Crosland; daughters, Carla Weeks Crawley and husband Tony of Norman Park; stepdaughters, Shannon Erskine and husband Danny of Omega and Michele Bright of Moultrie; brothers, Hank Meders and wife Linda of Omega, Walter Meders and wife Susan of Grand Junction, Colo., and James Meders and wife Faye of Wilmington, N.C.; sisters, Carol Jean Meders of Omega and Helen Meders Reeves and husband Steve of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Justin Crawley, Nicholas Crawley, Megan Crawley, Jacob Weeks, Alana Erskine, Madison Erskine, Brayden Erskine, Makayla Bright and Jaylen Shealey. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn Meders, Wardine McMillan and Barbara Ann Smith. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel.
