Lavon Dove (PICTURE) (VETERAN) NORMAN PARK Lavon Dove, 79, of Norman Park, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Casey Merritt, T.J. Norman, Tracey Norman and Jason May serving as pallbearers. Bobby Norman will be an honorary pallbearer. Born April 1, 1933, in Cook County, he was the son of the late Clifford Dove and Pearl Vickers Dove. He was a retired brick mason and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Bell Vickers Dove; a son, Ronnie Lavon Dove; brothers, L.A. Dove and D. J. Dove; and sisters, Robbie Paulk and Joyce Kilgore. Survivors include , a daughter, Rhonda Dove Adams and husband Greg of Norman Park; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Hinson Dove of Norman Park; a brother, Lavernon Dove of Irwinville, Ga.; a sister, Juanita Turner of Florida; grandchildren, Brandi Edwards, Amber Norman, Haley Edwards, Jessica Weeks and Amber King; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
