Leila King Winders Herndon Fowler, 88, of Tifton, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at UniHealth Acute Care in Moultrie. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Neil Hosey and the Rev. Winston Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery with her grandsons, Robin Winders, Chris Jarvis, Stacy Jarvis, Scotty Jarvis, Michael Cerfus and James Harrell serving as pallbearers. Born March 21, 1923, Worth County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil King and Laura Tindell King. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mallie Winders, O. R. Herndon and Otis Fowler; a son, Joe Wayne Winders; and a sister, Lois Harris. Survivors include her son, Robert Winders and wife Shirley of Moultrie; daughters, Faye Cerfus and husband Joe of Tifton and Judy Hosey and husband Neil of Moultrie; brothers, Darrell King and wife Dewayne of Dublin, Ga., and Ray King and wife Pat of Leesburg, Ga.; sisters, Zearlean Chevallier and husband Lester of Albany, Ga., Louise Saba of Deland, Fla., and Barbara Murphy and husband Ray of Albany, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
