Leroy Castleberry (VETERAN) MOULTRIE Leroy Castleberry, 81, of Norman Park died Tuesday Feb. 24, 2015, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Stephan Massey and Tony Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Funston Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jared Peek, Terry Mitchell, Kenneth Chafin, Junior Goble, Sean Wainwright and Alan Elkins. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Moultrie Fire Department. Born Aug. 13, 1933, Mr. Castleberry was the son of the late John Jerry Castleberry and Ida Norman Castleberry. He retired as a lieutenant after 32 years with the Moultrie Fire Department. He served in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force. During his military service Castleberry received two purple hearts and the silver star and served as a tail gunner on a B-29. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin Castleberry, Johnny Castleberry and Jessie Castleberry; and a sister, Novella Bennett. Survivors include his wife, June Marie Brag Castleberry of Norman Park; two sons, Tony Roberts and wife Donna of Enigma and Kevin Roberts and wife Lisa of Norman Park; a daughter, Tamala Swanson and husband Donald of Norman Park; a brother, Harvey Castleberry of Moultrie; two sisters, Alvin Castleberry of Tifton and Frances Sellers of Moultrie; grandchildren Autumn Bridges and husband Lee, Haley Goble and husband Junior, Jared Peek and wife Amber, Heather Chafin and husband Kenneth, Ashley Mitchell and husband Terry, and Mollie Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren Visitation will be held from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
