Macom D. "Don" Perry, 72, of Norman Park, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Willson Hospice House in Albany. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Paulks Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Burke will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and the Rev. Bill Barksdale. Pallbearers will be Tim Hartsfield, Shane Conger, Auden Conger, Greg Wood, Steve Wood and Paul Richardson. Mr. Perry was born July 9, 1939, in Norman Park, the son of the late James Pierce "J.P." Perry and Verna Paulk Perry. He served in the U.S. Army, including three years in France, and served 32 years as a first sergeant in the Army Reserves. He worked at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany for 42 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bennie Wood Perry of Norman Park; sons, Calvin Perry and wife Suellen of Moultrie, Keith Perry of Carrollton and Kyle Perry of Atlanta; grandchildren, Heather Perry, Cole Perry, Micah Perry and Elizabeth Perry; and a nephew, Alan Perry of Norman Park. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Perry Jr. and Darrell Perry.
