Maggie Jean Cox

Maggie Jean Cox, 79, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Services will be Thursday, June 2,at 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating assisted by the Rev. Ronald Barrett. Interment will follow at Hopewell Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Devaughn Ross, Colin Millison, Donald Weeks, T.J. Frye, Leon Keigans and Ricky Wright. Born on Oct. 23, 1936, in Norman Park, she was the daughter of the late OscarWeeks and Lillie Maude Wright Weeks. She was retired from Colquitt County Regional Hospital and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Maggie was a loving devoted Christian lady who loved her family and friends. She also loved working in her garden along with helping others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. "Bobby" Cox. Survivors include her son, Jody Cox of Moultrie; brothers, Robert Weeks and wife Katrina of Norman Park, and DeanWeeks and wife Judy of Norman Park; sisters, Aline Holder of Norman Park, Betty Miller and Husband Coy of Ellenton, and Linda Kay Ross and husband Darrel of Norman Park; and several nieces and nephews.
