Kathleen Ragan CROSLAND Kathleen Ragan, 90, of Crosland, Ga., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Agape Health & Rehab of Moultrie. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Crosland Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Davidson, Bobby Macomson, Greg Mott, Mike Pearce, James Scaglione and James Waters. She was born April 7, 1924, in Henry County, Ga., to Clarence Maddox and Lillian Evans Maddox. She worked at the ship yards during the war, then, driving a streetcar and was also a beautician in Tampa, Fla. Moving to Crosland, in 1963, she went to work for Harvey Food Stores in 1965, working there until her retirement Dec. 31, 2013. At Harvey, she was known as "Miss Kitty." "She loved all her fellow employees and customers, always having a warm greeting and smile for all," her family remembered. After retirement, she joined the Silver Sneakers Exercise Class at the Y of Moultrie to keep active and enjoyed the company of all there, her family also remarked. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ragan; mother-in-law, Meta Lee Ragan; sisters, Bernice Jackson and Carolyn Hassler; and brothers, Hugh and Ralph Maddox. Survivors include sons, James H. and William E. Ragan; and granddaughter, Kyndle Kathleen Ragan. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Aug. 13, at Baker Funeral Home of Moultrie.
