Margie Allen Alderman, 87, of Moultrie, died Monday November 16, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida, after a lengthy illness. Funeral service will be 11AM Thursday November 19, 2015 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Wayne Woods and Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Born January 19, 1928 in Colquitt County she was the daughter of the late Bill and Estelle Harmon Allen and the late Alpha Collins Allen. She was a former bookkeeper at David's and Belk's department stores, a former manager of the Allied Department Store all of Moultrie. A former Deputy Clerk of Court for Colquitt County and Murray County and a former bookkeeper for Braswell's Jewelry Store in Moultrie. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie since 1977 and was active in her Sunday School class. She also held the position of Secretary for the Indian Lakes Subdivision for a few years. In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; James T. Eaton, Jr. and Myles D. Alderman; one sister; Gladys Allen and four brothers; D. Lawton Allen, Bill Allen, Jr. Bob Allen and Alton Allen. Survivors include two daughters; Nancy Eaton Viafora (Michael) and Patsy J. Eaton all of Jacksonville, Fl; three sisters; Nell Geer of Reddick, Fl, Opal Schuler of Marietta, GA and Mary Ann Melvin of Edisto Beach, SC; three grandchildren; Jennifer Miller(Timothy), Laura Viafora of Jacksonville, Fl and Amber Judd (Kris) of Jersey City, NJ; three great-grandchildren and several special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be 6-8 Wed. evening Nov. 18, 2015 at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home. www.bakerfuneralhomeofmoultrie.com
