Margie Nadean Foy Martin, 82, of Pavo, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Mollie Danner and Rev. Marshall Singletary officiating. A private family interment will be held. Born on June 23, 1935, in Coolidge, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Foy and Ruby Mae Sherrod Foy. She was a graduate of Pavo High School in 1953. After graduation, she attended ABAC and transferred to Georgia State College where she graduated. She was an Educator in the Thomas Co. School system. She retired with 31 years of service. Following retirement, she taught for 5 years at Westbrook School, in Dixie, GA. She was an Active member of Pavo United Methodist Church where she Served as Sunday School teacher, Trustee Chair and UMW President. She held several offices in the Thomasville District UMW. Ms. Martin was also a member of Pebble Hill Community Club. She was an avid gardener, reader, and walker, where she was always eager to participate, even at the age of 79, in the Rose City Walk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Bruce Martin; and brothers, Tommy Foy and John Foy. Survivors include her son, Kyle Martin and wife Adrianne of Watkinsville, GA; daughter, Sonya Martin Aldridge and husband Dale of Pavo; grandchildren, Emery Martin, Elliott Martin, Ellison Martin, and Everett Martin; brothers, Ray Foy and wife Sabra of Thomasville; and sister, Imogene Webber of Chapin, SC. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. Donations can be made to Pavo United Methodist Church, P.O.
