Margie Lee Brown Sirmons, 83, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Friday, July 13, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb/Suncrest Cemetery with Michael Fortson, Smitty Smith, Marcus Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy, Johnny Franklin Sirmons and Riley Lewis serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Zack and John DeMott. Born Dec. 25, 1928, in Unadilla, GA., she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Brown and Emmer Lee Register Brown. She was a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Washington Sirmons; brothers, John, Jim and William Brown; and sister, Ola Etheridge. Survivors include her sons, Johnny Franklin Sirmons of Doerun, Thomas Wayne Sirmons of Moultrie, and Danny George Sirmons of Moultrie; daughters, Bernice Emory and husband Tom of Oakfield, GA., Jean Sellers and husband James of Moultrie and Emma Ruth Cummings and husband Huey of Moultrie; brother, George Brown and wife Martha of Moultrie; sisters, Jewelleen Powell and husband M.C of Sylvester, Marie Whittington of Sylvester, and Mae Caulder of Albany; grandchildren William White and wife Tammy of Sylvester, Terry Murphy of Oakfield, GA., Brenda Allison and husband Richard of Tifton, Margie Pearson and husband Kevin of Moultrie, Ellie Lewis and husband Harry of Norman Park, Johnny Ray Sirmons and wife Teresa of Akins, SC, Brittney Sirmans of Moultrie, Katrina Bivins and husband David of Moultrie, Mary Ann Jacobs and husband Josh of Moultrie, Stacy Johnson of Omega, Cody James Sirmons of Moultrie, Genia Smith and husband Smitty of Pavo, Stephanie Cowart of Moultrie and Leanna Crosby of Douglas; and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tursday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
