NORMAN PARK - Marion Kenneth "Buck" Taylor, 82, of Norman Park, died Sept. 21, 2015, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating and the Rev. Ronald Barrett assisting. Interment will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Larry Lairsey, Grady Davis, Fred Harrell, Carlton Dunlap, Ricky Weeks, and Justin Thompson. Born on May 7, 1933, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late John B. Taylor and Lois Tucker Taylor. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from General Telephone Company. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director and Deacon for many years. "He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put the wishes and needs of others before his own," the family said. He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Bobby Taylor, and Jerry Taylor; and one sister, Carolyn Martin. Survivors include his wife, Cora Jean Norman Taylor of Norman Park; one daughter, Alicia Taylor Hiers and husband, Dwayne, of Norman Park; sisters, Betty Rentz and husband, Pat, of Lake Park, Ga., Shirley Heimark and husband, George, of Kissimmee, Fla., and Vickie Hatch and husband, Don. of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Hiers of Moultrie, and Maggie Hiers of Athens, Ga. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Baker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
