Martha Hunter Cardin MOULTRIE- Martha Hunter Cardin, 68, died on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Services will be held Sunday, May 8, at 3 p.m., at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Johnson officiat- ing, assisted by the Rev. Franklin Vinson. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Harold "Jot" McMurphy, James McMurphy, Scott Miley, MichaelWayne Gibson, Ty Kitchens, and Lil Daniel Hunter. Honorary casketbearers will be Mike Horne, Derrick Gibson, and Lil O'Neil Gibson. Born on Dec. 29, 1947, in Newton, Miss., she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Hunter and Susie Cooksey Hunter. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by brothers, James Hunter, Larry Hunter, Edward Hunter,Wayne Hunter, and Bubbie Hunter; sisters, Ollie Biggert, Carolyn Merritt, Dorothy Gibson, and Mary Hinton; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Cardin, Carolyn Stafford, and Leivene Howard. Survivors include her husband, Jack Cardin; sons, Jack "Bubba" A. Cardin and wife Stacy of Dasher, Ga., and David E. Cardin and wife Brittany of Quitman; daughter, Angela Cardin Booth and husband Bert of Quitman; brothers-in- law, Richard "Butch" Hinton of Janice, Miss., Richard Stafford of North Pole, Ark, and Donald Cardin and wife Cathy of Adel; sisters-in-law, Gwen Hunter of Carthridge, Miss., Theresa Hunter of Morton, Miss., Elaine Hunter of Beaumont, Miss., Beth Boyd and husband Donald of Berlin, and Mary Holcomb and husband Glenn of Orange Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Ashley Cardin, Hunter Cardin, Jarrett Booth, and Madison Booth; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home Chapel one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
