Mary Faye Martin Rice (photo) VIDALIA, Ga. Mary Faye Martin Rice, 91, of Vidalia, Ga., and formerly of Moultrie, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, July 21, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Moultrie with burial in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. The Rev. Chad Watkins will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Michael Farmer. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rice, Ken Holder, Keith Rice, Mike Rice, Garrett Rice, Jody Hart, Spencer Rice and Matt Green. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Rice was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Morgan County, Ala., daughter of Harry Floyd Martin and Eula Mae Morrow Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of Moultrie's First Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday school for more than 30 years, was vice president of the NWMS and loved singing in the choir, her family recalled. She was married 72 years to the late Deward "D.B." Rice. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dwayne Rice and Ronald Rice; a brother, Harry Martin Jr.; and a sister, Leila Mae Brazil. Survivors include her sons, Larry Joe Rice and wife Adriane of Bainbridge, Ga., and Lynn E. Rice and wife Linda of Vidalia; a daughter, Sandra Hegwood & husband Lyn of Gulf Shores, Ala.; two brothers, Charles Martin & wife Sharon and Donnie Martin & wife Ginny; three sisters, Inez Galusha, Peggy Webb and Betty Waldron; grandchildren, Laura Hart, Tammy Travolich, Keith Rice, Mike Rice, Todd Rice, Pam Cumbie, Kristie Holder, Kevin Rice, Mark Hegwood, Jeff Hegwood, Shannon Baker and Sarah Ingram; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; seven nieces; and 18 nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
