Merlin Lamar Bragg, 80, of Albany, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Born November 11, 1936 in Moultrie, GA, he was the son of the late George Floyd Bragg and Lottie Marie Sloan Bragg. He retired from the United States Airforce after 20 years in the service. After he retired, He worked with civil services at the USMC base in Albany for 22 years as a heavy equipment inspector. He was of the Church of God faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Carolyn Bragg. Survivors include his wife, Dora A. Johnson Bragg of Albany; sons, Don Lamar Bragg of Leesburg and James Edward Bragg and fiancée Penny of Moultrie; grandchildren, Mark Holmes and Braxton Braggs; brothers, Julian Melvin Bragg and wife Glenda of Sylvester, George Wayne Bragg and wife Linda of Fayetteville, GA, and David Lincoln Bragg and wife Marilyn of Albany; and sisters, June Marie Castleberry of Norman Park, Janice Lindsey and husband Charles of Norman Park and Linda Carr and husband Alex of Sylvester. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
