Mildred Mercer Willis LENOX Mildred Mercer Willis, 91, of Lenox, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 23, at Baker Funeral Home. She was born on July 2, 1921, to Ardys Lindsey Mercer and Benjamin Franklin Mercer. She lived in the TyTy community of Colquitt County her entire life. She was a member of Omega Baptist Church. "She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great--grandchildren were the joys of her life," her family said. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Carrel "W.C." Willis; daughter, Joy Hyde; son in law, Lamar Hyde; her parents; a brother, Eugene Mercer; and sisters, Mary Whatley, and Frankie Asbell. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Grant of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Forrest Grant of Raleigh, N.C., Brent Hyde and wife, Michelle of Tifton, Ga.; Wendy Hyde Register and husband Tim of Orange Park, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Travis and Carreline Register of Orange Park, Fla., and Ethan and Allie Hyde of Tifton, Ga.; a devoted sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and A.J. Willis of Omega, a brother, Milton Mercer and wife Sandra; sisters, Mamie Krewer, Rubye Maxwell and husband Oliver, and Reba Sumner; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Marguerite Keeter and Willie Dickens; and caregivers, Mary Nelson, Betty Jean Pitts, Carolyn Waters, Glenda Thomas, Tiffany Bruner, Mary Thigpen, Brenda Mormon, Hospice of Tift County and the nurses and staff of Agape Health and Rehab. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, July 22, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
