Nan Edwina Grice Newton, 84, received her last call from God on February 6, 2016. She is now at rest in the presence of God. Born November 14, 1931, in Ozark, AL. She was the daughter of the late Edwin Price Grice, Sr and Annie Merle Woodham Grice. Nan was the mother of four daughters, housewife and worked outside the home for many years. Through the years she worked as clerk for Federal Crop Insurance, Sears, Moultrie Banking Company, C & S National Bank and Flowers By Barrett. She was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy Moultrie Chapter. Her life long passion was her service to God at Mt Olive Baptist Church and its community. Nan is survived by her four daughters, Barbara Rivenbark of Charlotte, NC, Darlene Platte of Camden, SC, Deborah Roberson of Moultrie and Regina Kelly (Dennis) of Pana.ma City Beach, FL. Ten grandchildren Abby Brown (Collin) of Bozeman, MT, Justin Rivenbark (Elizabeth) of Jersey City, NJ, Patrick Rivenbark (Rachel) of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Roberson of Moultrie, David Roberson of Charlotte, NC, Allison Platte of Charlotte, NC, Berkeley Platte of Nashville, TN, Daelyn Kelly of Virginia Beach, VA, Tara and Denise Kelly of Panama City Beach, FL. Three great-grandchildren Rosalyn Roberson, Rivers Brown and Dylan Rivenbark. She is also survived by brothers and sisters - Pete Grice (Agnes Ann), Lenora Baker, Mickey Walker (Kenneth), David Grice (Linda), and Linda Grice. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve and Robert Grice, son-in-law Jan Rivenbark, brother-in-law Ed Baker, niece Lori Ann Baker, and nephew Eric Grice. Visitation with family will be held Tuesday, 2/9, 6-8 pm at the Baker Funeral Home who has been entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services will be held at Mt Olive Baptist Church on Wednesday 2/10 at 3:00. Graveside services will be at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the service.
