Nettie Mae Jowers Vickers (PICTURE) NORMAN PARK Nettie Mae Jowers Vickers, 89, of Norman Park, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Freewill Baptist Church cemetery with Larry Baker, Rick Hayes, Earl Bishop, Ken Vickers, James Brown and Brandon Vickers serving as pallbearers. Born Nov. 15, 1923, in Douglas, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Jowers and Olliff Kirkland Jowers. She was a homemaker and a member of Cool Springs Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. Vickers; a step-son, Ty Vickers; brothers, J. D. Jowers, Robert Jowers and Marvin Jowers Jr.; and sisters, Thelma Vickers, Doris Jowers and Sandra Whitley. Survivors include a son, Keith Vickers and wife Dawn Michelle of Sparks; a daughter, Tammy Vickers Brown and husband James of Lake Park, Ga.; step-daughter-in-law, Ludell Vickers of Quincy, Fla.; a sister, Retha Parker of Middleburge, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brandon Vickers of Lake Park and Heather and Hunter Vickers of Sparks; step-grandchildren, Ken Vickers and wife Gwen of Griffin, Ga., Linda Barton and husband Dave of Tallahassee, Fla., and Joe Vickers of Tallahassee, Fla.,; six great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Larry and Gail Baker, Renee and Rick Hayes, and Judy Hinson, all of Norman Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
