MOULTRIE Nina Almand, 78, of Moultrie died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Kingwood Baptist Church, with the Revs. Allen Pierce and Stanley Norman officiating. Born Nov. 14, 1935, in Barwick, Mrs. Almand was the daughter of the late George Holcombe and Bessie Mae Sudduth Holcombe. She was a retired registered nurse with Georgia Southwestern State Hospital of Thomasville and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, David Almand of Moultrie; a daughter, Kathy Almand of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Velma Jeraldine Bearup of Collegedale, Tenn; grandchildren Melissa Rountree and husband Richard of Thomasville, Michael Keller, Justyn Keller of St. Augustine, Fla.; great-grandchildren R.J. Rountree, Marc Rountree and Oakley Austin Keller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Horn. Donations can be made to Hope House P.O.Box 794, Moultrie, GA 31776.
