Omie Carlton Maddox, 78, of Norman Park, passed away at her home on Friday, November 1, 2024, surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Reverend Jackie Cabaniss and Reverend Jimmy Voyle officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Church Cemetery. Ricky Perry, Cole Perry, Jason Mercer, Jody Bozeman, Jeffrey Walker, and Jonah Beverly will all serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Born on September 15, 1946, in Tifton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Stroizer Issac Carlton and Bessie Elizabeth King Carlton. Omie dedicated 23 years of her life to Miller Brewing Co as a forklift driver, where she was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Omie was a loving mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her family. She took great pride in her grandchildren, often delighting in their achievements and providing guidance and support. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Crosland Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Maddox; daughter, Omie Leann Perry Hartsfield; and great-grandson, Jonathan Austin Beverly.

Mrs. Maddox is survived by her son Henry Dalton “Ricky” Perry, Jr. and Melea Petty of Norman Park; grandchildren Jeffrey Walker and wife Krista of Norman Park, Lee Walker of Omega, Miranda Beverly and husband Jonah of Moultrie, Cole Perry and wife Hollyann of Winter Springs, FL, Jason Mercer and wife Connie of Cool Springs, and Tonya Bozeman and husband Jody of Sumner; and great-grandchildren Devon Walker, Huntley Walker, Harley Walker, Landon Jones, Carson Walker, Landan Beverly, Leia Perry, Tatum Velasquez, Zach Mercer, Jaciana Mercer, Jase Mercer, Rhett Bozeman, Caleb Bozeman, Autumn Walker, Aubree Walker, and brother Johnny Issac Carlton of Norman Park.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
