Patricia Ann Freeman McCoy, 85, of Moultrie, passed away at Colquitt Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Rose of Sharon Cemetery, with Reverend Doctor Josh Purvis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Born on March 25, 1939, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Robert Freeman and Claudia Tucker Freeman. Patricia's passion for gardening filled her days with joy. She loved tending to her vegetable gardens, and her green thumb produced bountiful harvests year after year. Spending time outdoors brought her a sense of peace, and she found happiness in the beauty of nature. Her love for sewing was a testament to her creativity, crafting beautiful pieces that her family cherished.
Cooking was another way she expressed her love, and her family gatherings were always centered around delicious meals lovingly prepared by Patricia. She was the heart of her home, ensuring that those she loved were always well-fed and cared for.
A devoted member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, Patricia's faith was an integral part of her life. She found strength and comfort in her church community and was a beacon of kindness and warmth to everyone she encountered.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, M.L. “Buck” McCoy; four siblings; granddaughter Vicki Smith; and great-grandson Ross Robinson.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann McCoy Smith and husband David of Moultrie and Linda McCoy Crosby and husband Mike of Moultrie; grandchildren, Whitney Johnson (Andrew), Meagan Wright (Will), Blake Smith, Christy Robinson (Kameron), Mack Crosby (Vianey), David Smith, and Tabitha Smith; great-grandchildren, Lauren Johnson, Olivia Johnson, AliceKate Erdmann, Eleanor Erdmann, Cora Johnson, and Buck Wright; and sister-in-law, Christine Parker.
