Phyllis Meeks

Phyllis Meeks, 74, of Milner, Ga., died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Brightmoor Nursing Center. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 17, from 4 until 6 p.m., at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted in the chapel. The Rev. Nelson Grist will officiate. On Friday, July 18, a visitation will be held from 2 until 4 p.m., at Baker's Funeral Home in Moultrie. Graveside services will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Moultrie. The Rev. Jimmy Voyles will officiate. She was born in Tift County, on Oct. 18, 1939. She was a retired supervisor with Clayton County Board of Education and was a member of Orchard Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Whisnant and LulaBelle Allman Whisnant. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Meeks; daughter, Felicia Roberson and husband Mike; son, Ron Meeks and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Bennett Meeks and wife Alex, Ashton Meeks, Ansley Meeks, Emily Roberson, Erika Roberson-Whitmire and husband Wesley, and Ian Roberson; great-grandchildren, Colton Meeks and Lilyana Meeks; sisters, Martha Ann Strickland and Judy Peckham; brother, Jimmy Whisnant; and several nieces and nephews. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, Ga., has been entrusted with arrangements.
