Phyllis Marine Matheny Murphy

Phyllis Marine Matheny Murphy, 78, of Norman Park, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Agape Health and Rehab. A private graveside service was held Wed., Oct. 19, at Deep Bottom Cemetery, in Norman Park, with the Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Born April 19, 1933, in Sylverton, Ore., she was the daughter of the late Mark C. Matheny and Inez Leone Grace Matheny. She was a bookkeeper and was of the Baha'i faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Murphy; a daughter, Brenda Todd; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include sons, Russell Newcomb and wife Darlene of San Diego, Calif., Howard Todd and wife Jeanett of Norman Park, Mark Todd and wife Pam of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald Murphy and wife Susan of Bio River, Calif., and Robert Murphy of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Linda Brazeau and husband Luke of Orofino, Idaho, and Teresa Salter and husband Chuck of Moultrie; sister, Dorothy Greenshields of California; 42 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
