Ralph Wayne Harris passed away peacefully at home in Moultrie, Georgia, on April 4, 2025, at the age of 80.
Wayne was born and raised in Nashville, Georgia, and went on to spend his life in service to others as an admired teacher, devoted husband and father, diligent coworker, and generous friend. He dedicated 45 years to teaching mathematics in high school and college.
For many decades, Wayne was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie, where he found both community and connection.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Lynda of 47years; his daughter, Doodle and her wife, Amanda; his son, Michael; his brother, Jimmy; and his grandchildren, Sam and Julia. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him — family, friends, former students, and his church community.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Bud Harris, and his sister,Susan Blevins.
A memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.at First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie. His family will speak at the service. All are welcome. A visitation will be held in the parlor after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice and Home Health Services in gratitude for their compassionate care.
