Ray Gene Williams Sr. (photo) MOULTRIE Ray Gene Williams Sr., 79, of Moultrie, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Barrett and the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating. Pallbearers will be John H. Williams, Ed Norman, Bob Pearce, David Williams, Sid Williams Jr. and Michael Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be the Colquitt County Sportsman Club. Entombmentwill be at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Williams was born March 27, 1936, in Moultrie to Shackelford "Bud" McLette Williams and Willie Belle Brown Williams. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a Shriner since the age of 21 and one of the founding members of the Colquitt County Sportsman Club. He was the founder of Williams Produce and a development company from which he was an important part of community growth and helped many families take part in home ownership. He loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Bass Williams of Moultrie; one son, Stephen Julian Williams & wife Pennie of Tifton; two brothers, Sidney Williams & wife Sandra of Thomaston and Alvin Williams & wife Dinky of Moultrie; three sisters, Agnes Davis of Moultrie, Bernice Hiers & husband Gene of Moultrie and June Holcomb & husband Frank of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Mandy Jarvis & husband Bill of Moultrie, Ray Gene Williams III of Moultrie, Elijah Williams & wife Ashley of Moultrie, Morgan Williams, Emma Rose Williams and Wyatt Williams, all of Tifton; and great-grandchildren, Price Jarvis, Parker Jarvis, Preslee Jarvis, Elijah Wade Williams and Kalee Jean Williams, all of Moultrie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ray Gene Williams Jr.; a daughter, Alacia Williams Stanford; brothers, John Horace Williams Sr., Martin Williams, Sherman Williams and Herbert Williams; and a sister, Myrtice Norman.
