Reverend Dr. Joseph L. "Brother Joe" Johnson, Sr. Reverend Dr. Joseph L. "Brother Joe" Johnson, Sr. age 91 of Moultrie died Friday Februsary 10, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Monday February 13, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Paul Rice, Associate Pastor Mike Litchard and Bro. Mark Jordan  officiating. Jamie Hunter, Joseph L. Johnson, II, Joseph L. Johnson, III, Bill Jordan, Pat Jordan, Howard Northrop, Garry Hay,  William Jordan, Chris Jordan and James Jordan will serve as pallbearers. Honoraries will be Pastors and Ministers of Colquitt Count Baptist Association.  Interment will be in Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Born May 27, 1925 in Lakeland, FL he was the son of Colon Bowen Johnson and Minnie Amy Darley Johnson. Brother Joe was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War II, he was Pastor and Member of Eastside Baptist Church and served 74 years as a Pastor in the Ministry. Survivors are his wife, Grace Windella Moll Jonhson of Moultrie; son, Joseph L. Johnson, Jr. and wife Debbie of Temple Terrance, FL; daughters, Josean Lovelle Hunter and husband James of Moultrie, Vanada Cornette and husband John of Tampa, FL and Melody Dery and husband Milan of Tampa, FL; sister, Virginia Jordan of Kathleen, GA; grandchildren, Joseph L. Johnson ,III, Anna Grace Hunter, Levi Hunter, Caroline Hunter, Wyatt Hunter and Cody Hunter. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am prior to service Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Outreach Ministries at Eastside Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
