MOULTRIE Richard Fred Dell, 89, of Moultrie, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Sloan and the Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Born July 28, 1925, in Pavo, he was the son of the late Charlie Coleman Dell and Nancy Morrell Dell. He was a retired farmer and was retired from the Brooks County Sheriff's Department. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He attended New Hope Holiness Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Odessa Hutchinson and brothers, Bill Dell, Paul Dell and George Dell. Survivors include his wife, Everlena Peek Dell of Moultrie; sons, Richard Dell and wife Christine and Freddie Dell and wife Nancy, all of Barney, Ga.; step-son, Terry Humphrey and wife Beth of Jacksonville, N.C.; daughters, Japonica Haefele and husband Bill of Morven, Ga., and Janice D. Register of Homerville, Ga.; step-daughters, Charlotte Cablay and husband Al of California and Rhonda Lena Sossion and husband Kevin of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lucy Yates of Moultrie; grandchildren, Fred Register and wife Liane, Stuart Chappell, Christie Akins and husband Dan, Lance Dell and wife Kathy and Daniel Anglin and wife Susan; step-grandchildren, Matthew Humphrey, Aaron Humphrey, Sarah Humphrey, Jessie Humphrey, Cloe Gatton, Lily Gatton and Melanie Hughes and husband Hal; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Aug. 5, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
