Ricky L. Hembree, 58, of Omega, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at The Golden Apple of Moultrie. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday Nov. 17, at Norman Park First Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Ashley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Danny Smith and the Rev. Jimmy Voyles. Burial will follow in Omega City Cemetery with Ray Moorman, Joey Salter, David Hancock, Bradley Hembree, Stevie Walker, Lonnie Salter and Lee Salter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Norman Park First Baptist Church, Roy Salter, and the Golden Apple staff. Born July 13, 1953, in Norman Park, he was the son of the late Lillie Salter Hembree and William Russell Owen Hembree. He was employed at Moorman Hog Farm and was the manager of Weeks Furniture Company. He was a member of Norman Park First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Angie Hembree Ethridge. Survivors include his daughter, Denver Dunn and husband Dusty of Omega; brothers, Randall Salter and wife Bonnie of Omega, Charles Hembree and wife Shirley of Albany, Tommy Hembree and wife Joyce of Albany and Serell Hembree and wife Norma of Omega; sisters, Dale Keith and husband Hillary of Omega, Gail Brown of Omega and Tracy Young and husband Walt of Omega; special friend, Peggy Pitts of Omega; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today, Nov. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The family may be contacted at 1806 TyTy Sparks Rd. in Omega.
