Robert Chapman

Robert Lawrence Chapman, 81, of Norman Park, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home.

Funeral service will be held 2:00pm on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Warren Gilpin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Dale Yarbrough, Bo Yarbrough, Justin Bass, Hunter Whiddon, Alex Apperson, and Scotty Yarbrough will service as pallbearers.

Born on June 18, 1939 in Norman Park, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert Irvin Chapman and Katie Blaine Fletcher Chapman. He was retired from GTE telephone and Walmart. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Chapman loved helping other people and was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Chapman; sisters, Bea Coley, Druie Dorminy, and Kathleen Weeks.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife, Bobbie Yarbrough Chapman of Norman Park; son, Joey Chapman and wife Pam of Moultrie; daughter, Pam Chapman Bass of Norman Park; sister, Bernice Hilton of Leesburg; grandchildren, Savana Chapman, Madison Chapman, Samantha Whiddon and husband Hunter, Brittany Apperson and husband Alex, and Justin Bass; great grandchild, J.D. Whiddon.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
