Robert Daniel Hinson

Robert Daniel Hinson, 81, of Funston, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Born April 5, 1930, in Colquitt County, Hinson was the son of the late Charlie Hinson and the late Alma Lott Hinson. He was the owner of Hinson Sheetrock Construction, served in U.S. Army during the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee White Hinson; three brothers, Gene Hinson, Frank Hinson and Edward Hinson; and three sisters, Claudine Farrow, Margie MacMurry and Marie Channey. Survivors include two sons, Tony Hinson of Funston and Danny Hinson and wife Teresa of Norman Park; a daughter, Debbie Hinson of Blackshear, Ga.; a brother, Carlos Hinson and wife Linda of Crystal River, Fla.; grandchildren, Nikki Harrell and husband Jeremy and Amanda Hinson, all of Funston, Brooke Hinson, Jeremy Hall of Norman Park, and Hanna Troutman of Funston; a great-grandchild, Jake Hurst of Funston; a sister-in-law, Pat Hinson; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. prior to the service. The family requested no flowers.
