Robert Lee "Bob" Newman Sr. MOULTRIE Robert Lee "Bob" Newman Sr., 71, of Moultrie died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug., 15, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the brother Charles King and Billie Black officiating. Casketbearers will be Chuck Chesnutt, Chris Fallin, Brandon Murphy, Robert Padgett, Jack Wilson, Josh Jackson, Casey Anderson and Kenny Horne. Honorary casketbearers will be granddaughters Holly Fallin Wilson, Hope Fallin Gunter, Brandy Murphy Jackson, Katee Newman and Hannah Smith. Born Sept. 6, 1941, in Covintgon, Tenn., Newman was the son of the late Walter Martin Newman and Euna Willie Alice Adams Newman. He was a supervisor at C.E. Builders and security guard at Balfour Lumber Co. He was an Air Force veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary McMurphy Newman of Moultrie. Other survivors include a son, Bobby Newman and wife Patty of Moultrie; four daughters, Becky Newman Fallin and husband Mike of Merrillville, Ga., Rennie Newman and fiancé Robin Butler, Mechelle Newman Murphy and friend Sam Walker, and Sherri Newman Padgett and husband Shawn, all of Moultrie; a brother, Walter Willie "Bud" Newman and wife Betty of White Haven, Miss.; three sisters, Judy Palmertree and husband George and Joyce Skelton, all of Holly Springs, Miss., and Debbie Armstrong and husband Wayne of Tennessee; grandchildren Holly Fallin Wilson (Jack), Hope Fallin Gunter, Brandy Murphy Jackson (Josh), Katee Newman, Hannah Smith, Chuck Chesnutt (Teresa), Chris Fallin (Bethany), Brandon Murphy (Destiny) and Robert Padgett; great-grandchildren Jolie Napier, Mikenna Wilson, Braylen Gunter and Noah Gunter; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Walter Martin Newman and a sister, Gloria Horne. Visitation will be from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
