Robin Ferrell Hunter died Wednesday, 14 November at Surrey Place Care Center in Live Oak Florida. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on 26 April 1956, to the late Guy L. Hunter and Bessie Lairsey Hunter. He graduated from Moultrie Senior High School in 1974 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy soon afterwards. He served on submarine tenders as an electronic equipment and communications technician, serving overseas in Scotland and Spain. He was discharged after a six-year commitment due to health and medical complications, a Disabled Veteran.
Robin relished life, despite his health and medical challenges which required repeated trips to the VA Hospital. He had many friends in his neighborhood and enjoyed Packer football, Braves baseball, fishing, and fish frys. He especially appreciated the holidays when his siblings and their families would come home.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Jeffrey L. Hunter and sisters Phyllis Hunter Shiver and Patricia Hunter Martin (Mickey). He is survived by sisters Peggy Hunter Johnson (Russell) of Norman Park and Alice Hunter Bonar (David) of Hamilton, OH, brothers Billy W. (Rosemary) of Lilburn, Georgia, Guy L. Jr. (Mary) of Jacksonville, NC, Roger C. of San Jose, CA, Junius A. (Holly) of Gainesboro, TN, and Jerry F. (Wendy) of Great Falls, VA. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside rites will be held on Monday 19 November, 2pm, with burial following at the family plot in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
