Ronald Earl Purvis, 73, of Moultrie, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2017 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Wiard and Rev. Ricky Purvis officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Brad Castleberry, Josh Purvis, David Plymel, Matthew Purvis, Harley Taylor, Brian Eunice, and Colt Swords. The Deacons of New Jerusalem Freewill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Born February 6, 1944 in Ocilla, GA, he was the son of the late George C. Purvis and Imogene White Purvis. He retired as the plant manager for Milco Building Products and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer Purvis, Rex Purvis, Troy Purvis, and Stevie Purvis; and sister, Dianne Purvis. Survivors include his wife, Doris Evelyn Williams Purvis of Moultrie; sons, Ronald Dewayne Purvis of Millen, GA., and Donnie Purvis and wife Jaime of Swainsboro, GA.; daughter, Chrissy Kight and husband Herman of Broxton, GA., grandchildren, Jonathan Purvis and wife Tori, Lindsay Purvis, Harley Purvis, Brycen Purvis, Jayden Purvis, Tres` Kight and Dakoda Kight; brother, Rev. Ricky Purvis and wife Wanda of Moultrie; sisters, Marthann Bufford, and Peggy Taylor and husband Harlon both of Moultrie; and sisters in law, Lynn Purvis of Moultrie, Pam Purvis of Moultrie, Gaynell Purvis of Lamont, FL., and Carolyn Purvis of Metter, Ga. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 6pm-8pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his memory toNew Jerusalem Freewill Baptist Church 273 Dean Matthews Rd.
