Roy Thomas Salter, 84, of Norman Park, passed away on Monday November 28, 2016 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday December 1, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating and Rev. Shane Ashley assisting. Interment will follow in Deep Bottom Cemetery in Norman Park. Casketbearers will be Daniel Donaghue, David Hancock, Chris Anglin, Alex Shivers, Donnie Bryant, and Charles Salter. Honorary Pallbearers are Greg Key, David Hurst, and Michael Brooks. Born October 8, 1932 in Worth Co., Georgia, he was the son of the late Telfair Wilson Salter and Elvie Gunn Salter. He retired from the city of Norman Park as the superintendent over water and sewer. Mr. Salter was the very first volunteer fireman of Norman Park. He was also a member of First Baptist Church Norman Park In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, WL Salter; three sisters, Alice Sutton, Lettie Key, and Lillie Mae Hembree and three brother in laws, Earl Bryant, Earl Tatum, and Chester Anglin. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Christine Bryant Salter of Norman Park; son, Joey Salter and wife Sharon of Moultrie; granddaughter, Roxanne Brooks and husband Michael of Moultrie; great grandchildren, Ella Brooks, John Brooks and Jacob Brooks; brothers, Carroll Salter and wife Christine of Sylvester and Randall Salter and wife Bonnie of Omega; sister, Mae Dell Hancock and husband Hoyt of Moultrie; special niece, Gail Brown and Daniel Donaghue; four sister in law, Eunice Sellars and husband Gene, Doris Ragan, Virginia Bryant all of Hartsfield and Susie Anglin of Camilla; and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service from 10am-11am at Baker Funeral Home Chapel.The family asked that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Norman Park, P.O.
