Roy Taylor

Roy Lee Taylor, 83, of Moultrie, died at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Partain officiating. Burial will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Herbert Connell, Leon Sellers, Wilbur Childers, and Mickey Hood will all serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Born on August 4, 1941, in Alma, Georgia, he was the son of the late E.D. Taylor and MaeBell Holton Taylor. He worked as a shipping clerk for Sangamon. Roy was passionately involved in serving his community as a volunteer firefighter, where he selflessly devoted his time and energy for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Aretta York Taylor; second wife, Elizabeth Ann Alderman Taylor; son, Roy Lee Taylor, Jr.; brothers, Nathan Taylor and George Taylor, Ed Taylor, and LP Taylor; and sisters, Margaret Anderson and Nova Jean Nails.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Ray Taylor, and wife Kim of Ray City; grandchildren, Levi Taylor, Trent Taylor, and Loriann Schlaske; and great-grandson, Logan Taylor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
